What is a stablecoin?

A stablecoin is a specific kind of crypto-currency that is pegged to a “stable” reserve asset like the U.S. dollar or gold. Stablecoins are designed to reduce volatility relative to unpegged cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.

Espresso Cash is a wallet where you can save and spend a stablecoin called USDC. The goal of USDC is to keep the parity with the dollar.
